The Mandalorian Chapter 12: The Siege: Filmnetic Review

Warning: Spoilers for ‘The Mandalorian Chapter 12: The Siege’ ahead

Old friends return and the big picture comes into focus in this weeks episode of “The Mandalorian.” Fans waiting for major plot developments certainly get their itch scratched in this weeks episode of the hit Disney+ show. However, for a show with only eight episodes per season, it continues to move remarkably slow.

The Siege follows Mando and The Child’s return to the planet Navarro, the main planetary location of the first season. They are reunited with Cara Dune (Gina Carano), who now serves as marshal, and Greef Carga (Carl Weathers), who now sits in charge of the planet’s economic operations.

The group works together to take down the last known imperial base on the planet where they uncover shocking information about the fate of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and his nefarious intentions with Baby Yoda. This episode is an unexpected, yet welcome detour from the quest to find Ahsoka Tano that was teased heavily in last week’s episode.

Carl Weathers directs this weeks episode as well as starring in it, but his directing leaves a little to be desired. He does a fine job, but this episode seems a bit uninspired compared to other episodes in the series, particularly this season.

This episode ended on a pretty intriguing cliff hanger and sets the stage for the rumored debut of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano for next week.
