Early on in Disney’s Investor Day presentation, CEO Bob Chapek dropped an important set of numbers that will keep fans excited for the next few years. Chapek name gave a definitive answer to the number of shows and feature films that will debut on Disney+ over the next few years.
The specific amount of shows from each of Disney’s divisions are as follows:
- 10 from Marvel Studios
- 10 from Star Wars (Lucasfilm)
- 15 Disney live-action, animation, and Pixar series
- 15 Disney live-action, animation, and Pixar feature films
Additionally, Chapek stated that Disney+ aims to launch new content every week. Its weekly release strategy for shows like “The Mandalorian” make it ideal for weekly consumption across its shows from every division.
Marvel is hard at work developing its debut shows WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Star Wars led the charge on Disney+ with smash hit The Mandalorian, and will continue with shows like Obi-Wan and Cassian Andor.
