Kevin Feige came to play at Disney’s Investor Day 2020 presentation. In addition to brand new information about a slew of upcoming projects, Feige announced three new Marvel shows as well as the concepts and characters that lead them. Let go into each show and what is known so far:
Secret Invasion is based off of a comic book arc where fan favorite characters from around the Marvel Universe were secretly abducted and replaced with Skulls (the alien race from Captain Marvel). The cast is led by Samuel L. Jackson who returns as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn from returns as the Skrull, Talos.
Nick Fury and Talos were last seen in the end credits of Spider-Man Far From Home where the Secret Invasion concept was first introduced.
Ironheart follows the story of Riri Williams as she creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Dominique Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk) leads the cast as the genius inventor. Riri Williams was introduced to comic book readers in 2015 to excited reception for the characters significance to the future of diversity in comics, and now, television.
The first Iron Man film introduced the concept of weapons and technology falling into the wrong hands back in 2008. Armor Wars explores a world where this has become the reality. The series brings back Don Cheadel as War Machine, and will tell the classic Marvel story of Tony Stark’s ultimate fear coming true.
