Lady Sif is returning to the MCU after her noticeable exclusion in Thor: Ragnarok. According to Deadline, Jaimie Alexander is set to reprise her role as Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder and a possible guest role in Loki for Disney+.
Both projects had a sizable presence at Disney’s Investor Day presentation, but Alexander’s inclusion was noticeably excluded. Marvel had to comment when reached out to by Deadline.
No word yet on the size of her role in Thor: Love and Thunder, but Deadline reports that her role in Loki is classified as a “guest role,” which points to a cameo or episodic appearance on the series. Alexander’s Lady Sif was last seen in the MCU in the ABC show Agents of Shield where she guest starred in two episodes. Before that, Sif originated in the first two Thor films before Taika Waititi took over as writer/director and lead creative on the series.
Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film will be released exclusively in theaters on May 6, 2022. Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and will release on Disney+ in May 2021.
